The Beauty Workbook

So, I've been seeing some reviews on the Cosmo Beauty Book. I don't own it, but I do own a few beauty books, I'll do reviews on the others another time.. but I'll start with one I own called The Beauty Workbook.
I like this book because it's divided into 5 different chapters, 1st being Skin, 2. Sun, 3. Makeup, 4. Hair, & 5. Nails.

Chapter 1 gives all different information on skin, from helping you find your skin type, how to care for that skin type, how to take care of your skin in general, etc.

Chapter 2 talks about the Sun. We all love the sun, but it's extremely damaging as we all know... but do we all know how damaging? This explains.

3rd- Makeup. Isn't that why most of you are reading? hehe. The author talks about her personal experiences with makeup while growing up. She says in here, "For me, makeup was and is a joy, not a chore.." So, we can relate. She talks about different colors of makeup & how to use makeup, tools of the trade & essential brushes (how they're used & how to take care of them), steps on applying makeup, what color goes good with different hair colors & ethnicities, plus much more.

4th is Hair which explains how to take good care of your hair, what styling tools you should use, hair myths, hair products, yadda yadda yadda...

Numero cinco... Nails. This is basically the same, but a nail version. Tips for your nails, taking good care of them, etc.

Love this book! & it's cheap.. which is great. The more you save, the more you have to spend on other things. lol. This blog probably makes me sound extremely cheap... which is very untrue. I can't keep money in my pocket for the life of me. I am always buying something, but I get the bargain shopping from mama.. :)

Twilight!

Just got home from watching Twilight not too long ago. I liked it. Of course, the book was better... but it seems like that's the way it always goes. A couple friends I went with didn't like it, but honestly.. the book is for young adults, therefore the movie is going to be also. Whatever, I liked it. I love Edward... seriously LOVE him.. want him, need him, looovvvvee him! hahaha.

Well, my opinion was that it was good. The books definately needed to be read before seeing the movie because most of the scenes were rushed through & they didn't focus enough on the important parts. A lot of things could only be understood from reading the book. Edward's character also seemed a little awkward, which I understand he was playing the role of a vampire.. but in the book they described him as "blending" in more with humans. James' character did an AMAZING job. He acted the part really well. It wasn't the best movie I ever saw, but it definately wasn't the worst.. & I really did like it. I don't really know what I was expecting so I can't say whether or not I was disappointed. I prefer books to movies because with books you can picture everything in your head.. characters, surroundings, etc, etc. It feels like I'm in my own little world. maybe that's just me? HA.. Anyway, here's a pic of me CHEESING right after the movie in my Twilight shirt. Bottom pic is what the back says. I had to pick it up from Hot Topic before my final so I could represent for my man tonight. hehe

All in all... my last thoughts are.. I LOVE the books therefore LOVE the movie. I can't & won't hate on it. I am going to see it again & I am going to buy it when it comes out. End of story. HAHA. Ok, that's all about Twilight. Ciao!

MAC Skin Care

These 2 products are a must because I LOVE them! I hate my oily skin & honestly will try just about anything to control it. Wednesdays I have a 4 hr break in between classes & what is 5 minutes away from my school?.. A mall. Go figure. So, while passing time, I decided to wander the mall. I was looking through Macy's & somehow just ended up at the MAC counter. (I don't know how that happened?) Haha, but on to the point!... I ended up purchasing the Green Gel Cleanser & Oil Control Lotion.

Green Gel Cleanser:

Fresh, vibrant, skin-tingling cleanser with refreshing extracts of cucumber and algae. Full-on foam, yet delightfully soap-free. Conditions, nourishes and hydrates leaving skin clean, clear, smooth and protected. For a blast of freshness for the skin; just activate with water. 150 ml / 5 fl oz

US $19.50

Oil Control Lotion:

The ultimate no-shine base for oil control. Natural exfoliants help improve texture and clarity. Lightweight and instantly matte, bonds makeup to the skin for fewer touch-ups. Oil-free hydration with natural colloidal minerals and antioxidants. Formulated to keep skin pH-balanced. Use day or night.
50 ml / 1.7 fl oz
US $28.00

I can honestly say that I LOVE these 2. I haven't used anything yet that works better for me & I really hope this doesn't let me down. It is a little pricey, but if it does the job.. then I don't care. The Green Gel Cleanser leaves my skin feeling extremely soft, clean, & oil free while the lotion does the same! I am very satisfied with both & HIGHLY recommend to anyone who has oily skin!

My rating: 5 out of 5 - OBVIOUSLY!

Until next time, Ciao!

Everyday Minerals

For me, nothing is worse then oily skin. I hate that I can't go a few hours without my face looking shiney & oily.. & as we all know, liquid foundation only seems to make that worse. I always wanted to try Bare Escentuals but kept puttng it off.. until my friend bought it. She put it on me, & from far I liked how it looked. My skin felt soft & smooth.. but up close, it looked so caked on. I really did not like that at all.. so I stuck with my liquid foundation & that was that.

However, not very long ago I came across Everyday Minerals & their free samples. I was really happy that the samples were an option. In the past I used Sheer Cover & that was horrible. Broke out terrible, just completely horrible. Everyday Minerals samples allows you to get 3 foundations, 1 concealer, 1 blush & you only for shipping, which I think cost me around $3.67? & shipping was FAST!

I gave it some time before I judged it & I ended up really liking it. My skin feels as if I'm not even wearing makeup. I let my sisters try it out & they liked it too. We decided we wanted to order, so we got the Super Personal Custom Kit - Full. This allows you to pick 12 full size items from a list of categories for $50.00. Choosing 1 of the kits is actually cheaper then ordering each separately. In our order we got 3 foundations, 3 concealers, 1 finishing dust, 3 flat top kabuki brushes, & 2 long handled kabuki brushes. Again, the order came really fast which always makes me super happy because I have NO patience! I was also happy to see that in the order, 2 BIG sized blushes were included for free! :)

The makeup brushes are amazingly soft & I absolutely love them! I definately recommend Everyday Minerals. If you're unsure, atleast try the samples. Shipping is very reasonable! & I doubt you'll be disappointed!!

Halloweenie

Fun Times on Halloween!

Here's a few pictures on halloween with some of my favs. <3...

I am the vampire. Yes, I know.. I look freaky, but isn't that what Halloween's all about?! :))

My beautiful little sister let me draw all over her face, hehe

Night #2

This look was inspired by Pertrilude on YouTube. His looks much better, but hey.. it was spur of the moment & I used crappy makeup. The idea is still there :-P

Ciao a tutti (Hello to all!)

First things first, Hi! :)) So, like most other girls, I feel I can NOT stop buying things. It doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing, the urge is always there. I love any & everything girly. Clothes, shoes, makeup, accessories, changing my hair color & style.. you name it!

As far as name brands go, they don't mean much to me. I don't think you need MAC or any other high-end cosmetic to get an awesome look. Now, I'm not saying those cosmetics don't work well. I'm not going to lie, I think they're amazing.. but I'm all about getting the most for my money, & if I can find something for 1/4 the price or even 1/2 the price, you better believe I'm buying it! Same with clothes, shoes, whatever... My advice: Use what works for you! So with that said, don't ever feel a look can't be re-created with different products..anything is possible! ;-)

Also, I am not dedicating this blog to only makup. Basically I will talk about anything that interests me, as well as all of you... soo keep checking, I will post as often as possible. :)

[please remember, what I say on this site is only my opinion. What may work for me, may not work for anyone else. I am only offering my suggestions & opinions on products I have tried!]
